Snøhetta ha sido encargado por la autoridad de inversiones de Ras Al Khaimah y RAKEEN para llevar a cabo el diseño arquitectónico para el proyecto Gateway en el emirato de Ras Al Khaimah. La expresión arquitectónica la propuesta, se inspira en el desierto y el paisaje de montaña que lo rodea. Este concepto prevé una variedad infinita de sombreados naturales, espacios íntimos y protegidos, en torno a la cual, los múltiples usos relacionados con el desarrollo son tejidos. El paisaje arquitectónico ondulado es resuelto con una dramática torre hito, marcado la plaza principal de entrada. Esta torre de 200 m de altura, será el escenario para un hotel de más de 5 estrellas, que a su vez ofrecerá vistas panorámicas a través del emirato, hacia el golfo y más allá de las montañas.
